Machine Screw Nuts for 1/4"-20 Threads

These brass hex nuts fit standard 1/4"-20 machine screws and bolts. The pack contains 36 pieces for repetitive fastening tasks. They are suited for maintenance, repair and light fabrication work.

Brass Material and Quantity

Brass resists corrosion better than plain steel in damp environments. The 36-count pack reduces the need for frequent reordering during ongoing projects. No additional washers, drivers or thread-locking compounds are included.

Thread Standard and Safety Limitations

The nuts conform to the 1/4"-20 thread specification only; they will not fit metric or other imperial pitches. California Proposition 65 warnings indicate the presence of chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm. Buyers needing different thread sizes, higher strength grades or certified lead-free hardware should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the brass 1/4"-20 hex nuts in this 36-pack need replacement due to corrosion or thread wear?

Brass resists corrosion better than plain steel, so these nuts typically last the life of the assembly unless threads are stripped during repeated removal.

What is the first limit reached when these 1/4"-20 brass nuts are tightened repeatedly under load?

Brass has lower tensile strength than steel, so the threads will yield or strip before the mating steel bolt reaches its limit.

Do the 1/4"-20 brass nuts generate noticeable heat or noise when left in a vibrating, all-day application?

Nuts are passive fasteners; they produce no heat or noise themselves, though vibration can loosen them unless a locking method is used.
