Coupling Nut for Threaded Rods

This coupling nut joins two threaded rods end to end by providing internal threads that meet in the centre. It is intended for maintenance, fabrication and assembly tasks where a secure rod extension is required. The component suits professionals and DIY users needing a reliable mechanical fastener.

3/8"-16 Thread Specification

The nut is tapped to a 3/8"-16 thread pitch, which is the single specification that determines compatibility with the mating rods. Only rods cut to this exact thread standard will engage correctly and achieve full holding strength.

Steel Construction with Zinc Plating

The steel body supplies the structural strength needed for sustained clamping force, while the zinc plating resists surface corrosion during extended service. This combination maintains joint integrity under continuous load without the degradation seen in unprotected fasteners.

Questions about this item

What does the 3/8"-16 thread mean when I use this nut in a project?

The 3/8"-16 thread matches standard coarse-thread rods so two rods screw in from opposite ends and meet in the centre of the nut.

How does the zinc-plated steel finish hold up in practice?

Zinc plating on steel resists rust in dry or mildly damp conditions and is suitable for indoor or sheltered outdoor assemblies.

What length of threaded rod engagement does the 1-1/8 inch body provide?

The 1-1/8 inch overall length gives roughly half that depth per side so each rod engages about 9/16 inch inside the nut.
