Wheel stud for hub mounting
The MIDWEST FASTENER CORP 75406 is a new zinc-plated steel wheel stud with a 1/2"-20 fine thread and a 1-19/32" length. It is the threaded fastener that holds the wheel to the hub through the brake drum or disc. Lug nuts thread onto the stud to secure the wheel assembly.
Installs into hub with lug nut retention
The stud presses into the vehicle hub and remains semi-permanently mounted there. It passes through the brake drum or brake disc to provide the mounting point for the wheel. A lug nut is fastened onto the exposed thread to clamp the wheel against the hub face.
Suits repair of original fine-thread studs
This part fits applications requiring the 1/2"-20 fine-thread specification and the 1-19/32" length. It is not for vehicles that use coarse-thread studs or a different thread diameter. Builders needing a different length or thread pitch should look at another part number.

Questions about this item
How far can the 1/2"-20 thread stretch before it yields under daily driving loads?
The 1/2"-20 fine thread is rated to the same tensile specification as the original wheel stud; replace it if the threads show any stretch or damage.
Does the zinc-plated steel stud heat up enough to affect brake-drum temperatures during long downhill runs?
The stud itself conducts minimal heat; brake-drum temperature is governed by the friction surface, not the fastener.
Which lug nuts must I already have to match the 1/2"-20 fine thread on this stud?
You need lug nuts with a 1/2"-20 thread pitch and the correct seat type for your wheel.
