MIDWEST FASTENER CORP 76505 Computer Grommets accessory

Product identity

MIDWEST FASTENER 76505 grommets are white nylon plastic fittings sized 2-1/2" by 2-5/16" for protecting cables where they pass through desk or panel cut-outs. They suit office fitters, IT installers and DIY organisers who need a clean, durable edge around wiring holes. The transparent colour blends with light surfaces and the moulded nylon resists cracking under repeated cable movement.

Suitability and limits

These grommets work for single-cable or small-bundle pass-throughs in wood, laminate or thin metal panels up to the stated flange dimensions. They are not suited for high-voltage conduit, outdoor weather sealing or openings that require a locking snap-in mechanism. Buyers needing fire-rated intumescent seals, larger diameter holes or a threaded mounting style should look at alternative hardware.

Behaviour under sustained load

The nylon body retains its shape and surface finish after months of daily cable friction and occasional foot traffic across the desk cut-out. It does not become brittle under normal indoor temperature swings and the smooth inner radius prevents insulation wear on power and data leads. Long-term exposure to direct sunlight may eventually yellow the white finish, so interior positioning is recommended.
