36-inch Aluminum Lake Rake

The Midwest Rake 86036GR is a specialty garden hand tool designed for skimming floating aquatic vegetation and algae from water surfaces. Its 36-inch wide head carries 36 aluminum tines, each 2 1/2 inches long, to gather debris in a single pass. The tool suits pond owners and maintenance crews who need a broad, lightweight reach.

132-inch Straight Handle for Extended Reach

The straight aluminum handle measures 132 inches, letting the operator work from the shore or a boat without stepping into the water. Powder coating on the handle resists corrosion and provides a secure grip during repetitive pulling motions. Aluminum construction keeps the overall weight low so the rake can be manoeuvred for long periods without fatigue.

All-Aluminum Build Handles Wet Conditions

Head, tines and handle are all aluminum, so the rake withstands constant immersion and exposure to moisture without rusting. The powder-coated finish adds an extra barrier against the elements. No moving parts or bearings are present, eliminating mechanical wear points that could fail under sustained use.

Questions about this item

How much force does the 132 in aluminum handle transmit when the 36 tines drag through heavy algae all day?

The straight aluminum handle is powder coated for grip and corrosion resistance, and its 132 in length gives you long reach without adding much weight, so fatigue stays low during extended skimming sessions.

What diameter pole or connector must I already own to attach the 36 in head?

The head and handle ship as one 132 in straight aluminum unit with 36 tines already mounted, so no separate pole, adapter or connector is required.

Will the 36 aluminum tines bend if I keep using my old wooden push pole alongside this rake?

The tines are made of aluminum and measure 2 1/2 in long across a 36 in width; they are designed for skimming floating vegetation, not for prying, so avoid levering against a rigid pole to prevent bending.
