Product identity

The Mikrotik RB4011iGS+RM is a ten-port Gigabit router with an SFP+ 10 Gbps interface and IPsec hardware acceleration. It targets network administrators and small-business IT teams who need carrier-grade routing performance in a compact rackmount form factor.

Build and connectivity

A solid metal enclosure in matte black houses the quad-core Cortex A15 CPU and 1 GB of RAM. The unit fits a standard 1U rack space using the included ears and accepts passive PoE input at 18–57 V. Port ten can deliver PoE output to power a downstream device.

Deciding specification

The single SFP+ cage provides optional 10 Gbps uplinks through a separately sourced module. Buyers who require multiple 10 Gbps ports or built-in wireless radios should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What does the SFP+ 10 Gbps interface cap in practice?

The SFP+ port provides optional 10 Gbps connectivity through an SFP+ module that is not included with the router.

What physical space does the RB4011iGS+RM need to fit in a rack?

The unit measures 228 x 120 x 30 mm and includes two rackmount ears that securely fasten it in a standard 1U rack space.

How is the router installed and what step do people get wrong?

Mount the included rackmount ears to the solid metal enclosure, then secure the 1U unit in the rack; the step often missed is inserting an SFP+ module for 10 Gbps connectivity since it is not included.
