Outdoor 5 GHz CPE

The MikroTik SXTsq 5 ac is a compact outdoor wireless device with an integrated 16dBi antenna, designed for point-to-point links or customer premises equipment use. It targets installers who need a self-contained radio for directional 5 GHz connections.

Fixed US frequency ranges

The USA variant is factory locked to 5170–5250 MHz and 5725–5835 MHz bands, and this restriction cannot be removed. The 23° beam width concentrates signal for longer links but demands precise alignment during installation.

Single Gigabit port with PoE

One 10/100/1000 Ethernet port handles data and accepts 24 V 0.38 A passive PoE, simplifying cabling to a single outdoor run. The slim enclosure is two times thinner than earlier models, reducing wind load on masts or walls.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the USA-locked RBSXTsqG-5acD-US or an international variant for my link?

The US model is factory locked to 5170-5250MHz and 5725-5835MHz; this lock cannot be removed. Choose it only if your regulatory domain matches those exact ranges.

What does the 16 dBi antenna gain mean for a real point-to-point link?

The integrated 16 dBi antenna with a 23° beam width focuses signal tightly for long-distance links, but requires precise alignment between both ends.

How does the single Gigabit Ethernet port and 802.11 ac wireless cap actual throughput?

The 10/100/1000 port and 802.11 ac radio share a 716 MHz quad-core CPU; wired throughput is limited to 1000 Mbps while wireless rates depend on channel conditions and the 256 MB RAM buffer.
