This Smith Equipment tip handles acetylene cutting on material from 1/8 in up to 3/16 in thick. It fits handheld torches using the MC12 series and produces a medium preheat flame. The one-piece design simplifies setup for general fabrication work.

Flow Rates and Pressure Window

Preheat acetylene runs at 6 scfh with oxygen at 7 scfh, while the cutting oxygen stream requires 30 scfh. Fuel pressure is set at 10 psig and oxygen at 20 psig. Outside these settings the flame becomes unstable and cut quality drops sharply.
