Product Identity
The Miller-Smith Equipment SW205 is a new acetylene welding tip built for the SW200 torch series. It carries a size-5 drill (No. 57) and an overall length of 8.5 in, suited to brazing and welding tasks up to 1/8 in material thickness.
Upgrade Context
This tip replaces worn or damaged SW200-series tips when flame quality drops or orifice size no longer matches the job. The jump is worth it when the current tip cannot hold the rated 10 psi acetylene pressure or deliver the specified 6 scfh fuel and oxygen flow.
Installation Notes
Thread the tip into any compatible SW1, SW1A, SW1B, WH200 or WH200A torch body until snug; no special tools are required. The most common issue is cross-threading the fine threads or overtightening, which distorts the orifice and ruins gas flow.

Questions about this item
What torch series does the 8.5 in SW205 tip fit?
It fits the SW200 torch series and torches with manufacturer part numbers SW1, SW1A, SW1B, WH200 and WH200A.
How is the tip installed, and what step is often missed?
Thread the tip onto the SW200 series torch by hand, then tighten with a wrench; the step often missed is confirming the acetylene pressure does not exceed 10 psi before lighting.
When should the tip be replaced?
Replace the tip when the orifice shows erosion, the flame becomes irregular, or the drill size 57 passage is blocked and cannot be cleared with a tip cleaner.
