1-1/4" Bronze Gate Valve for Gas, Oil and Water
The Milwaukee Valve 148 is a Class 125 bronze gate valve with female NPT threads. It controls flow of gas, oil or water in residential and light-commercial plumbing systems. A rising-stem wheel handle shows valve position at a glance.
97 Cv capacity and 200 psi pressure rating
The solid bronze wedge delivers a flow coefficient of 97, providing ample headroom for typical supply lines. Rated for 200 psi cold working pressure and 125 psi steam, it handles standard municipal water pressure and low-pressure steam without strain. Beyond those limits the bronze body and seat may deform.
Class 125 FNPT interface constraints
Female NPT threads seal with taper engagement and thread sealant; over-tightening cracks the bronze bonnet. The screw-in bonnet limits disassembly clearance compared with bolted designs. The valve is not rated for ANSI flanged connections or for pressures above the stated Class 125 limits.

Questions about this item
Will the 1-1/4 inch FNPT threads on this Milwaukee 148 gate valve match my existing bronze piping?
Yes, the valve uses 1-1/4 inch female NPT threads on both ends, a standard taper thread that mates with male NPT bronze pipe nipples and fittings of the same nominal size.
How can I confirm the rising stem is operating correctly after installation?
Open the wheel handle fully; the bronze stem should rise visibly out of the bronze bonnet, giving a clear visual indication that the solid bronze wedge has lifted clear of the 97 Cv flow path.
Does the box include flange gaskets or bolts, or must I buy them separately?
The valve is an FNPT threaded model, not a flanged unit, so no flange gaskets or bolts are needed or supplied; only the valve body with its bronze seat and seal materials are in the box.
