1/2" Gate Valve for Water Systems
This 1/2 inch gate valve controls water flow in residential and commercial plumbing installations. The low-lead brass construction meets safety requirements for potable water supply lines. It is designed for solder connection on copper piping systems.
Brass Body with Wheel Handle Operation
The valve body, bonnet, stem, wedge, seat and seal are all made from brass for corrosion resistance. A forged brass solid wedge provides a tight shut-off against the brass seats. The non-rising stem with screw-in bonnet keeps the handle height constant during operation. A wheel handle allows precise manual control of the flow.
Verify Sweat Connection and Pressure Rating
Confirm your piping uses 1/2 inch copper tube sized for sweat solder joints before ordering. The maximum operating pressure is 200 psi for water service only; steam service is not applicable. The flow coefficient Cv is 17.6 for system sizing calculations. Ensure local codes permit this valve type for the intended application.
