What this cable delivers

This 6.6ft USB cable provides 40Gbps data transfer and carries video up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz. It also supports power delivery up to 240W for charging compatible laptops and devices. The connection works with Thunderbolt 4 hosts such as MacBook, XPS and Surface Pro models.

How the specifications affect use

The 40Gbps bandwidth allows fast file moves between high-speed SSDs and docks. The video ceiling lets you drive an 8K monitor at 60Hz or a high-refresh 4K panel at 240Hz without compression. The 240W power rating means the same cable can charge a large laptop while it drives the display and moves data.

Who should buy it and who should not

Creative professionals and developers who need one cable for high-resolution video, rapid data and full-speed charging will benefit. Users with older USB 3.2 or USB 3.1 ports will not reach the stated speeds or power levels. Buyers who only need basic charging or 1080p video can choose a simpler, shorter cable.

Questions about this item

Will the 240 W charging capability degrade over time with daily use?

The cable is rated for 240 W power delivery and 40 Gbps data transfer; normal use within those limits does not reduce its specified performance.

What limits sustained 40 Gbps transfers on this 6.6 ft length?

Signal integrity over the 6.6 ft run is the primary factor that can limit continuous 40 Gbps throughput.

Does the cable get hot or draw extra power during all-day 8K 60 Hz video and 240 W charging?

The cable is designed to handle 240 W charging and 8K 60 Hz video simultaneously without excessive heat buildup under normal conditions.
