Purpose and User

Mirka 23-608-240 Bulldog Gold Grip Disc is an abrasive finishing tool built for surface preparation on automotive and industrial jobs. It suits technicians and DIY users who need consistent sanding performance on paint, primer or composite materials.

Critical Specification

The disc carries a 240 grit rating that determines the cut depth and finish quality for the application. Selecting the wrong grit will either remove too much material or leave scratches that require extra steps to remove.

Installation and Common Issues

The grip backing presses onto a compatible backing pad without tools, so changeover takes seconds. Clogging and pill forming are the typical problems on soft coatings; the semi-open coating and stearate treatment on this disc are designed to reduce both.

Questions about this item

How does the 240 grit finish perform on a real surface?

The 240 grit abrasive produces a fine finish suited to final smoothing and prep work before coating.

What backing system does the grip disc use and what does it limit?

The hook-and-loop grip backing allows quick disc changes on a compatible backing pad and limits use to tools with that interface.

What physical size must the backing pad be for this 3 inch disc?

The disc measures three inches in diameter so it requires a three inch hook-and-loop backing pad for secure mounting.
