Ready-to-install projector lamp

The Mitsubishi EX240U module arrives as a complete 185 W bulb-and-housing assembly matched to the VLT-EX240LP part number. It is built for owners of compatible Mitsubishi projectors who need a direct replacement without sourcing separate components.

UHP lamp practical limits

The 185 watt UHP bulb is rated for approximately 4000 hours of typical use before brightness drops to half its initial output. Actual life varies with power-cycle frequency, ambient temperature and whether the projector runs in eco or normal mode.

Straightforward swap with common pitfalls

Installation requires only opening the lamp door, releasing the securing screws and sliding the module into place until the connector seats firmly. The most frequent issues are forgetting to reset the projector’s hour counter after fitting the new lamp and touching the bulb glass with bare fingers, which can create hot spots and shorten service life.

Questions about this item

Which EX240U lamp version should I choose among the OEM and compatible options?

Three OEM versions exist: the original bulb manufacturer's lamp, the Mitsubishi-sold OEM lamp, and an OEM-compatible from another bulb maker. A third-party compatible using genuine OEM parts is also available. All meet ISO 9001 standards.

What does the 185W rating mean for brightness and heat in my projector?

The 185W UHP bulb delivers the light output the EX240U was designed for. Power draw and heat match the original specification, so cooling and brightness remain unchanged.

Does the lamp connector follow a standard interface or is it proprietary to Mitsubishi?

The module uses the exact housing and connector built for Mitsubishi EX240U projectors. It fits directly without adapters and matches the factory electrical interface.
