Sculpted Molded Plywood Lounge Chair

The Modway Fathom lounge chair uses lightweight painted bentwood plywood with an artificial veneer finish, shaped to follow the body's curves. Natural rubber shock mounts absorb movement for a gentle rocking feel. Anti-skid fabric foot pads protect floors while keeping the chair stable. It arrives as a single chair requiring assembly at home.

Rubber Shock Mounts and Protective Foot Pads

The integrated natural rubber mounts cushion each shift in posture, reducing harsh contact between the plywood shell and the steel base frame. Anti-skid fabric pads on each foot prevent sliding on hardwood or tile without the need for separate felt stickers. Together they preserve both the chair's finish and the floor surface during daily use.

Straightforward Assembly With Pre-Drilled Components

All plywood panels and hardware are pre-drilled, so the frame bolts together with basic hand tools in a single session. The main risk is over-tightening the bolts, which can stress the veneer; snug but not forced is the rule. Missing the rubber mount orientation is the other common slip — match the molded groove to the base bracket before final tightening.

Questions about this item

How often should the rubber foot pads be checked and replaced to protect the floor?

The protective rubber foot pads are fitted at the factory and should be inspected periodically; replace them if they show wear or lose grip.

Which dimension is most likely to limit comfort during long sitting sessions?

The seat depth of 19 inches and seat height of 15 inches set the posture envelope, so taller users may feel the depth limit first.

Does the molded plywood frame creak or transmit heat after hours of continuous use?

The bentwood plywood construction with natural rubber shock mounts absorbs movement and stays temperature-neutral, so noise and heat buildup are minimal.
