RJ11/RJ12 6P4C T-Adapter

The Monoprice 107292 is a passive splitter that connects two telephones, fax machines or modems to a single RJ11 wall jack. It is intended for residential or small-office wiring where only one outlet is available.

4-conductor wiring

The adapter carries all four conductors so both connected devices receive line power and signalling without rewiring. No external power supply or configuration software is required.

Compact plastic housing

The T-shaped body plugs directly into the wall plate and accepts two standard RJ11 cables, keeping the installation flush to the surface and leaving adjacent outlets accessible.

Questions about this item

Will the 6P4C contacts on this 107292 adapter wear out from repeated plugging?

The gold-plated 6P4C contacts are rated for thousands of insertion cycles, so normal phone or modem swaps will not wear them out.

What limits how many devices I can run through the single RJ11 jack?

The splitter is a passive 1-to-2 T-adapter; the line voltage and current from the wall jack set the practical limit, not the adapter itself.

Does the adapter generate heat or noise when two phones stay connected all day?

No active electronics are inside, so it produces zero heat and makes no noise regardless of how long devices remain plugged in.
