Cat6A Keystone In-Line Coupler

This Monoprice 115696 coupler joins two RJ45 patch cables to extend a network run. It supports Cat6A performance in a keystone form factor for wall plates or patch panels. Installers and home users can create longer links without re-terminating cables. The straight-through wiring maintains the standard pinout for typical Ethernet connections.

Passive component with no power draw

The coupler operates without electricity so it adds no heat, fan noise or power consumption to the installation. Signal loss stays within Cat6A limits for the combined cable length. It simply passes data through the 8P8C contacts. Buyers needing powered signal extension or fibre conversion will require different equipment.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Cat6A keystone in-line coupler into a wall plate, and what step do people often miss?

Snap the coupler into a standard keystone opening until the retention clips click; the step often missed is verifying both clips are fully seated so the coupler cannot pull out.

What maintenance or replacement will the RJ45 8P8C coupler need over time?

The coupler has no moving parts; replace it only if the gold-plated contacts show corrosion or if a cable latch tab breaks and causes intermittent connection.
