Monoprice 134309 Braided Speaker Wire

The Monoprice 134309 is a 10ft speaker cable with two 14AWG conductors designed for connecting passive speakers to an amplifier. It suits audiophiles and home-theatre owners who want a durable, pre-terminated link for stereo or surround setups.

Build integration with banana plugs

Each end carries a pair of gold-plated banana plugs colour-coded for quick polarity matching, so the wire plugs straight into binding posts without stripping or twisting bare strands. The soft-touch braided jacket protects speaker cabinets from scratches while staying flexible enough to route around furniture or through cable channels.

Sustained signal integrity

Tinned oxygen-free copper conductors resist corrosion over long periods, keeping resistance stable during extended listening sessions. The secure banana-plug connection prevents intermittent contact that can arise from loose bare-wire terminals after repeated thermal cycling.

Questions about this item

How much power can the 14AWG copper conductors handle continuously without overheating?

The wire uses 14AWG tinned oxygen-free copper conductors rated for typical home audio amplifier loads; the braided jacket adds no thermal limit.

Does the braided fabric jacket trap heat or make the cable stiff after hours of playback?

The soft-touch braided jacket remains flexible and does not retain heat; it is designed to protect speaker finishes without adding rigidity.
