Heavy-duty server power cord

This Monoprice 135053 power extension cord measures 10 feet and uses 14AWG conductors rated for 15 amps at 125 volts. It terminates in an IEC 60320 C19 connector on one end and a NEMA 5-15P plug on the other. The SJT jacket provides durability for demanding environments.

Suited for high-draw rack equipment

It fits servers, storage arrays and network gear that require a C19 inlet and draw enough current to need 14 AWG wiring. Buyers whose hardware uses a C13 inlet or a different plug standard should look at something else.

C19 to 5-15P connector pairing

The defining specification is the IEC 60320 C19 to NEMA 5-15P connector combination, which determines whether this cord matches the inlet on your device and the receptacle on your power source.

Questions about this item

What does the NEMA 5-15P plug limit this cord to in practice?

The NEMA 5-15P plug is rated for 15 A at 125 V, so the cord cannot deliver more than 15 A regardless of the 14 AWG conductors.

Will the IEC 60320 C19 connector fit my server inlet?

The C19 connector fits a matching C20 inlet found on many servers and PDUs; verify your device has a C20 inlet before ordering.

How do I install this cord and what step is often missed?

Plug the C19 end into the equipment C20 inlet and the 5-15P end into the wall or PDU; the step often missed is ensuring both connectors seat fully so the ground pin makes solid contact.
