25-foot Toslink cable for home-theatre audio

This 25-foot Toslink cable carries digital optical audio between source devices and receivers. It suits PlayStation, Xbox One, soundbars, AV receivers and other gear with standard square Toslink ports. The male-to-male connectors fit full-sized sockets without adapters. The heavy-duty metal mesh jacket protects the fibre core from nicks and kinks during routing.

Uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1 or 7.1 formats

The optical link transmits uncompressed two-channel PCM or compressed multichannel streams such as DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 or 7.1. Bandwidth is limited to the S/PDIF specification, so lossless formats such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio cannot pass. Runs beyond 25 feet may exceed the practical reach of standard Toslink without a repeater.

Immune to electrical interference

Because the signal travels as light, the cable avoids crosstalk, magnetic fields and radio-frequency noise that affect copper interconnects. The metal mesh jacket and metal connector heads resist physical stress in normal behind-rack installations. No external power is required and the passive design adds no noise floor to the audio chain.

Questions about this item

Will the 7.62-metre cable reach from my AV receiver to a TV across the room without signal loss?

The 7.62-metre (25-foot) length carries uncompressed 2-channel PCM or compressed 5.1 and 7.1 audio optically, so distance does not degrade the digital signal.

How can I verify the cable is passing Dolby 5.1 or DTS correctly after connecting it?

Check your receiver or soundbar display — it should indicate the incoming format (PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS) and all channels should play without dropouts.

Does the box include any adapters or mini-Toslink plugs for portable devices?

The package contains only the cable with two full-sized male Toslink connectors; mini-Toslink adapters are not included and must be purchased separately.
