14AWG 4-Conductor Speaker Wire

Monoprice 104039 delivers 100 feet of oxygen-free copper speaker wire on a spool. It uses 99.95 percent pure bare copper conductors instead of copper-clad aluminium. The white jacket carries a CL2 rating for in-wall installation in residential buildings. This wire suits stereo and multi-room audio runs.

Capacity and headroom

Four conductors support bi-wiring or two separate speaker pairs from a single pull. 14AWG gauge keeps resistance low over the 30.48 metre length, preserving amplifier damping factor. Copper-clad aluminium alternatives offer only 68 percent conductivity, adding series resistance that can alter frequency response. Very long runs beyond the supplied length may need a heavier gauge.

Build integration

The CL2-rated jacket meets building codes for in-wall and ceiling routing without conduit. Spool packaging simplifies pulling and measuring custom lengths on site. No connectors are included, so terminations are made to suit binding posts, banana plugs or spades. The white finish blends with standard ceiling and trim paint.

Questions about this item

Will the 14AWG 4-conductor wire run cleanly alongside my existing thinner speaker cable?

The wire uses 99.95 percent pure oxygen-free bare copper conductors, which are more conductive than copper-clad aluminium alternatives, so signal loss stays low when mixed with other gauges.

How can I verify the CL2-rated jacket is safe for my in-wall installation after pulling it?

The white outer jacket carries a CL2 rating, meaning it meets fire-safety requirements for residential in-wall runs; inspect the printed legend on the jacket to confirm the rating before closing the wall.

What exactly ships on the spool and do I need to buy connectors separately?

The box contains 100 continuous feet of 14AWG 4-conductor speaker wire on a spool; no connectors are included, so banana plugs, spades or pins must be purchased separately.
