Plenum-rated speaker wire for in-wall installs

This Monoprice 12AWG cable carries a CMP rating, meaning its jacket meets fire-safety codes for plenum air spaces in commercial and residential buildings. The 100 ft length suits whole-home or multi-room audio runs where cable must pass through ducts or above suspended ceilings.

Four conductors simplify dual-speaker pulls

A single 4-conductor jacket replaces two separate 2-conductor runs, cutting pull time and reducing clutter inside walls. Each conductor uses high-purity oxygen-free bare copper for accurate signal transfer, while the outer jacket is softer and more flexible than traditional plenum-rated insulation.

Upgrades basic CL2/CL3 wire when codes demand CMP

Installers who previously used standard riser-rated speaker cable can switch to this CMP version to satisfy stricter plenum requirements without changing gauge or conductor count. It is not suited for buyers who need a 2-conductor version for single-speaker runs or a different gauge for longer distances.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 12AWG four-conductor version or a thinner two-conductor wire for my installation?

The 12AWG four-conductor design lets you run a single cable to a pair of speakers, reducing labour and keeping resistance low over the 30.48 m length.

How does the 12AWG gauge perform when the wire is pulled through walls and ceilings?

At 12AWG the oxygen-free copper conductors keep voltage drop minimal across the full 30.48 m run, preserving amplifier damping and detail.

What does the CMP rating allow me to do with this cable in a building?

CMP plenum rating means the jacket meets fire-safety codes for installation inside air-handling spaces and wall cavities without conduit.
