CMP-Rated 16AWG Speaker Wire

Monoprice 113723 is a 100-foot plenum-rated cable built for in-wall speaker connections. The 16AWG oxygen-free copper conductors deliver clear signal transmission for residential and commercial audio systems. Its CMP jacket meets fire-safety codes for installation inside air-handling spaces.

Suited for in-wall runs.

This wire suits installers who need a fire-rated cable for routing through plenum ducts or behind walls. Buyers who require heavier gauge for long-distance high-current runs or outdoor burial-rated jackets should look at other options.

16AWG gauge decides amplifier compatibility

The 16AWG conductor size determines how much current the cable can carry without excessive loss. Match this gauge to your amplifier power and run length to ensure proper performance.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 16AWG 100ft reel or a different gauge for my installation?

The 16AWG thickness works well for typical home speaker runs; the 100ft length lets you cut exact lengths for each channel from a single reel.

What does the CMP plenum rating mean once the cable is installed in a real building?

CMP rating confirms the jacket meets fire safety codes for use inside walls, ceilings and plenum air spaces in residential and commercial buildings.

How does the 16AWG gauge affect the signal over a 100ft run?

16AWG oxygen-free copper keeps resistance low enough for clear audio on typical speaker distances up to the full 100ft length.
