14AWG Braided Speaker Cable

Monoprice Affinity Premium Braided Speaker Wire 115520 is a 1.8288m two-conductor cable terminated with gold-plated banana plugs. It uses tinned oxygen-free copper for corrosion resistance and sonic clarity. A braided fabric jacket adds durability and protects speaker finishes.

Home audio and stereo setups

Suits listeners wiring bookshelf or floor-standing speakers to an amplifier or receiver where banana plugs are preferred. Not for buyers who need bare-wire ends, spade terminals, or longer runs beyond the fixed length supplied.

14AWG conductor gauge

The 14AWG gauge determines current-carrying capacity and voltage drop over the 1.8288m span. Verify this gauge matches your amplifier output and speaker impedance before purchase.

Questions about this item

What does the 14 AWG thickness mean for a typical home stereo run?

At 14 AWG the two conductors keep resistance low over the 1.8288 m length, so amplifier power reaches the speakers with minimal loss.

How do the gold-plated banana plugs connect to standard binding posts?

Each end has a male banana plug that inserts directly into a standard five-way binding post, giving a secure, tool-free connection.

What clearance does the braided jacket need behind a bookshelf speaker?

The soft-touch braided fabric adds only a slim layer over the 14 AWG conductors, so the cable bends easily in tight spaces behind cabinets.
