5.1.4-Channel Immersive Home Theater System

The Monoprice Premium 5.1.4-channel system delivers immersive surround sound with four satellite speakers featuring upward-firing drivers. An 8-inch 200-watt subwoofer provides low-frequency impact for movies and music. The package is designed for compatibility with standard and Dolby Atmos enabled receivers. It builds on the sound signature of the earlier 10565 system.

Buyers wanting Dolby Atmos height effects without

Upward-firing drivers on all four satellites reflect sound off the ceiling to create a 3D audio space. This suits rooms where overhead wiring is impractical or prohibited. The system requires a receiver with 5.1.4-channel processing and enough amplifier channels to drive every speaker. Buyers lacking a compatible receiver or sufficient speaker wire runs should consider simpler configurations.

Eight-inch subwoofer rated at 200 watts

The powered subwoofer handles deep bass extension for explosions and musical low notes in typical living rooms. Its output is sufficient for small to medium spaces at reference listening levels. Very large rooms or listeners who demand extreme sound pressure may find the bass runs out of headroom during sustained heavy passages. The total system weight is 47 units.

Questions about this item

Which AV receiver do I need to power the 5.1.4-channel speaker set and the 200 watt subwoofer?

Any receiver with at least 5.1 channels and a dedicated subwoofer pre-out will drive the system; a Dolby Atmos enabled model activates the four upward-firing drivers for height effects.

Can I keep my existing 5.1 receiver and still use the four satellite speakers with upward-firing drivers?

Yes, the satellites work as standard surrounds on a 5.1 receiver; the upward-firing sections simply remain inactive until you connect an Atmos-capable unit.

How do I confirm the upward-firing drivers are creating the 3D sound field after setup?

Play a Dolby Atmos demo clip — you should hear distinct overhead effects like rain or aircraft moving above the listening position.
