Office power extension
This Monoprice extension cord adds reach for office workstation equipment that uses standard mains plugs. It carries a NEMA 5-15P plug on one end and a NEMA 5-15R receptacle on the other so computers, monitors or printers can sit further from the wall outlet. The 14AWG conductors are rated for 15A at 120V. It is not suited for high-current appliances or outdoor use.
Build integration
The cord plugs directly into an existing outlet, power strip, UPS or PDU without adapters or tools. Its two connectors free a short device lead to reach a rack shelf or desk grommet that would otherwise be out of range. The SJT jacket resists typical indoor abrasion. Installers who need locking connectors or a longer run will need a different cable.
Capacity and headroom
The 15A rating comfortably handles a typical desktop, monitor and printer on a single branch circuit. Running multiple high-draw devices such as space heaters or laser printers together will exceed the cord’s limit. The 14AWG gauge provides adequate headroom for normal office loads but is not intended for continuous heavy-duty service.

Questions about this item
How long is the cord before voltage drop becomes an issue?
The cord is 3 feet long and uses 14 AWG conductors rated for 15 A at 120 V, so voltage drop is negligible at this length.
Does the SJT jacket get hot or stiff when the cord runs all day at 15 A?
The SJT jacket is rated for continuous 15 A service at 120 V and remains flexible at normal room temperature.
Will the NEMA 5-15P plug fit my existing PDU or UPS receptacle?
Yes, the 5-15P plug mates with any standard NEMA 5-15R outlet found on most PDUs and UPS units.
