14AWG CMP-rated speaker wire

This 14AWG two-conductor speaker wire carries a CMP plenum rating for in-wall and air-space installation in residential and commercial buildings. It uses 100 percent pure bare copper conductors for low resistance signal transfer. The black jacket is softer and more flexible than traditional plenum jackets, easing long pulls through conduit. Supplied on a 250-foot spool for continuous runs.

Installation notes

The flexible CMP jacket bends easily around studs and through tight cavities without kinking. Color-coded inner jackets simplify polarity identification at each termination point. Ensure local building codes accept CMP-rated cable for the intended plenum or riser space before routing. Avoid sharp bends that could deform the copper conductors over time.

Pre-order checks

Verify the total cable path length does not exceed the 249.94-foot supply on a single spool. Confirm the connected equipment uses two-conductor speaker-level connections rather than line-level or four-conductor wiring. Check that the 14AWG gauge suits the amplifier power and run distance for your specific speaker load.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 14AWG speaker wire is performing correctly after installation?

Verify clear audio output from connected speakers and inspect the black CMP-rated jacket for intact insulation along the full 249.94 ft run.

What comes with the 13717 speaker wire and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the 250 ft spool of 2-conductor 14AWG oxygen-free copper wire with CMP-rated jacket; connectors, banana plugs or wall plates are sold separately.

When should I choose this 14AWG 2-conductor 250 ft version over other gauges or conductor counts?

Select this 14AWG 2-conductor spool for single-speaker runs up to 249.94 ft in plenum spaces; choose 4-conductor for speaker pairs or a different gauge for longer distances.
