HDMI 2.0 signal extender for long runs

The Monoprice 15650 Blackbird 4K Pro repeats HDMI signals up to 4K at 60 Hz across distances of 25 metres. It also carries 4K at 30 Hz to 30 metres and passes 3D video, CEC and HDCP 2.2 or 1.4 without an external power supply. The unit draws less than one watt and installs plug-and-play in home or professional AV chains.

Replaces passive cables beyond their reliable length

When a standard copper HDMI cable cannot hold 18 Gbps bandwidth past a few metres, this repeater restores the signal so 4K 60 Hz reaches 25 metres and 4K 30 Hz reaches 30 metres. The jump is worth it when the source and display are separated by 75 feet or more at 60 Hz, or 90 feet at 30 Hz, and you need full HDCP 2.2 compliance for protected content.

Check cable ratings and power budget before ordering

Verify that the HDMI cables on both sides of the repeater are rated for the target resolution and bandwidth, because the device only regenerates what it receives. Ensure the source port can supply the tiny operating current, as no separate adapter is included. The repeater is not suited for runs shorter than the cable’s native capability or for installations that require an externally powered amplifier.

Questions about this item

Does the 15650 need a separate power supply to work?

No, the repeater draws less than one watt and operates without an external power supply.

How do I install the 15650 in an existing HDMI cable run?

Connect the repeater between two HDMI cables at the midpoint of the run; the step often missed is ensuring the total length does not exceed the supported distance for your target resolution.

What limits how far I can run cables with the 15650 over time?

The repeater supports 4K at 60 Hz up to 25 metres and 4K at 30 Hz up to 30 metres; signal integrity at those distances depends on cable quality and environmental factors.
