Planar Magnetic Headphones for Audiophiles

The Monolith M1060 uses a 106mm planar magnetic driver to deliver lower distortion, tighter bass and precise imaging. Its open-back architecture creates a wide, holographic soundstage suited for critical listening in quiet rooms. The model 116050 targets enthusiasts who value accuracy over isolation.

Capacity and Headroom

The large 106mm membrane resolves fine detail across the frequency range without the congestion typical of smaller dynamic drivers. Open-back vents prevent pressure build-up but also leak sound, so the design falls short in noisy environments or when privacy is required.

Bundled Comfort Accessories

Generous faux-leather ear pads and a padded headband distribute the 4.08-unit weight for marathon sessions without hot spots. No cables, adapters or carry case are mentioned in the data, so buyers should plan for their own interconnects and storage.

Questions about this item

Will the 106mm planar drivers sound good with my older desktop amp?

The 106mm planar magnetic drivers produce lower distortion and better bass than typical dynamic drivers, so they reveal more detail from any amplifier that can deliver sufficient current.

How do I know the open-back design is working correctly after I plug them in?

You should hear a spacious, holographic soundstage that feels like sitting in a live venue, with sound leaking naturally from the earcups rather than being trapped inside your head.

What comes in the box with the Monolith M1060 and what must I buy separately?

The headphones include large faux-leather earpads and a padded headband for comfort; a compatible audio cable and any required adapter for your source are not included and must be purchased separately.
