Morpheus 360 Aspire HP8550ANC over-ear headphone, 45 dB ANC, Bluetooth 5.4, 40 hr

What it is and who it suits

The Morpheus 360 Aspire HP8550ANC is an over-ear wireless headphone with hybrid active noise cancellation rated at 45 dB. It targets commuters, office workers and travellers who want long battery life and the option of a wired 3.5 mm connection. The circumaural design uses eco-leather cushions and a padded headband for extended wear.

Behaviour under sustained use

Bluetooth 5.4 provides a low-energy link stable to 33 ft, supporting up to 40 hours of continuous communication time on a single charge. A full recharge takes a maximum of 2 hours via USB Type-C. Active noise cancellation uses five microphones, two outside and two inside each cup plus one for voice, to suppress steady background noise such as traffic or aircraft engines.

Limits of the Bluetooth 5.4 interface

The 32 ohm impedance and 20 Hz low-frequency response are driven within the bandwidth and range constraints of the Bluetooth 5.4 standard. Audio quality and connection stability will vary with obstacles, interference and the capabilities of the source device. Wired operation via the supplied 3.5 mm cable bypasses the wireless link entirely when latency or battery conservation are priorities.
