Rugged 12.1-inch tablet for field professionals

The Motion Computing J3500 is a slate tablet built for harsh mobile work environments. It runs Windows 7 Professional on a 1.2GHz Intel Core i7 single-core processor with 4GB of DDR3L 1600 memory and a 128GB SSD. Integrated GOBI mobile broadband, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 keep workers connected on site.

Simple deployment with legacy OS constraints

The unit ships with a power adapter and two batteries for immediate use. Installation mainly involves configuring the pre-loaded Windows 7 Pro image for specific enterprise applications. The end of mainstream support for Windows 7 means no further security patches, so connecting the device to open networks creates significant vulnerability.

WXGA touch display and single-core performance

The 12.1-inch AFFS+ LED panel delivers a 1280 x 800 resolution with touch input suited for gloved operation. The single-core 1.2GHz processor limits multitasking and modern web rendering, making the tablet suitable only for lightweight, purpose-built field software. The 4GB memory soldered as a single module cannot be upgraded.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the tablet is running correctly after initial setup?

Check that Windows 7 Professional loads to the desktop, the 12.1-inch touch display shows 1280 x 800 resolution, the 1.20 GHz Core i7 processor appears in system information, and both batteries report charge in the power manager.

What accessories are included and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the J3500 tablet, a power adapter, and two batteries. No optical drive is built in, so external media drives or additional memory modules would be separate purchases.

Which configuration should I choose for maximum storage and memory on this model?

This J3500 comes with a 128 GB SSD and 4 GB DDR3L 1600 memory as the only listed capacity; there are no alternative storage or RAM options to select.
