Scale and purpose

This 1:18 scale diecast model replicates the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series (R230) in grey. It is made for adult collectors and hobby enthusiasts who want a detailed display piece rather than a toy for play.

Materials and handling

The body is constructed from diecast metal with rubber tyres and steerable wheels. As a static collectible it generates no heat, draws no power and produces no noise during normal handling or display.

Packaging and presentation

The model ships in the manufacturer's original unopened box with brand new packaging. Officially licensed detailing covers the interior, exterior and engine compartment, so no extra accessories or software are required for display.

Questions about this item

How do I install the model on a display shelf and what step is commonly missed?

Place the 10.5 inch long diecast model on a level surface; the step often missed is checking that all four rubber tyres sit flat so the steerable wheels do not bind.

What maintenance or replacement will the 1/18 scale Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series need over time?

Dust the detailed interior, exterior and engine compartment with a soft brush; the rubber tyres may harden after years and can be swapped for 1/18 scale replacements if they crack.

What is the first limitation that appears when the model is handled repeatedly?

The steerable front wheels are linked to a delicate steering linkage; excessive force will bend the tiny metal rods before the diecast body shows any wear.
