Broadcast X/Y stereo lavalier

The Movo SR-XMS2 packs broadcast-grade X/Y stereo capsules into a lavalier form factor for DSLR cameras, camcorders, digital recorders and Saramonic devices. An alligator-style lapel clip secures the microphone to clothing for discreet, hands-free recording. A 20' (6 m) cable provides extended reach without adding bulk. The unit draws power directly from the connected device, so no battery is required.

3.5 mm TRS plug limits

The fixed 3.5 mm TRS connector fits mic-input jacks on compatible cameras and recorders. It will not connect to TRRS smartphone ports, USB audio interfaces or XLR preamps without an adapter. Cable length is fixed at 20 feet, so the maximum working distance from the recorder is set by that lead. The omnidirectional pattern captures sound from every direction, which also means ambient noise is picked up alongside the voice.

Omnidirectional X/Y stereo pickup

Dual capsules in an X/Y arrangement deliver a stereo image while the omnidirectional pattern equalises off-axis response. This makes the microphone suited to interviews, podcasts and diction work where the speaker may turn their head. Buyers who need a directional pattern to reject room noise or a cardioid capsule for focused voice isolation cannot achieve that with this microphone.

Questions about this item

Is the 20' cable long enough for on-camera interviews?

The 20-foot (6 m) cable provides ample reach to position the lavalier away from the camera while keeping the 3.5 mm TRS plug connected to your recorder or DSLR.

How does the X/Y stereo capsule arrangement affect the recorded sound?

The X/Y stereo capsules capture a realistic stereo image directly at the source, giving interviews and podcasts a natural sense of space without needing two separate microphones.

What devices does the 3.5 mm TRS connector work with?

The 3.5 mm TRS plug connects directly to DSLR cameras, camcorders, digital recorders and compatible Saramonic wireless transmitters or mixers that accept a standard microphone-level TRS input.
