Industrial Modbus Gateway

The Moxa MGate MB3180 is a 1-port Modbus gateway that converts between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU or ASCII protocols. It suits system integrators and plant engineers who need to connect legacy serial devices to an Ethernet network. The unit supports Auto Device Routing for straightforward configuration. It is built for industrial environments where reliable protocol translation is required.

Single Serial Port Flexibility

The gateway provides one Ethernet port and one RS-232/422/485 serial port for flexible deployment. It allows routing by TCP port or IP address to match existing network topology. Easy hardware setup reduces commissioning time on site. The serial interface accommodates multiple electrical standards without additional converters.

Reliable Operation Under Load

The device handles up to 16 simultaneous TCP masters with as many as 32 simultaneous requests per master. This capacity maintains stable communication during peak traffic periods. The design focuses on consistent data throughput for Modbus networks. Power consumption and thermal output remain low in typical continuous operation.
