1981 Jeep CJ5 Golden Hawk Model Kit

This 1/25 scale plastic kit reproduces the 1981 Jeep CJ5 Golden Hawk with 191 detailed parts. It is aimed at adult hobbyists and collectors who enjoy building vintage off-road vehicle replicas. The officially licensed product arrives in vintage-style packaging with chrome-plated trim and black vinyl tires.

Practical limits of 1/25 scale modelling

The finished model fits a display shelf but lacks the interior volume for functional steering or suspension movement. Paint and cement are required to complete the kit, so the builder must supply both. The white moulded plastic and optional soft-top parts need careful finishing to match the colourful decal artwork.

Assembly difficulty and common pitfalls

Rated at Skill 2, the kit suits modellers with some prior experience handling small chrome-plated components. Builders often struggle with aligning the roll-bar, CB equipment and 4x4 suspension details without tweezers. Stripping the chrome trim for silver repainting can damage surrounding surfaces if done too aggressively.
