Millennium Falcon Model Kit

This 1/72 scale plastic kit reproduces Han Solo's Millennium Falcon as seen in the 1977 Star Wars film. It contains 122 parts moulded in light grey and is rated Skill Level 3 for experienced modellers. The finished model measures approximately 18 inches long and includes new seated figures of Han Solo and Chewbacca. Officially licensed packaging makes it suitable for collectors and hobby enthusiasts.

Build Detail and Display Features

Parts feature engraved engine grill detail, revised side walls and a smaller, more detailed radar antenna. Pivoting radar and gun turrets add movable elements, while opening landing gear bays include removable landing gear. A display stand is provided for shelf presentation. Colourful decal artwork is included, though paint and cement are required separately to complete the assembly.

From Simpler Kits to This Scale

Builders moving up from smaller or less detailed Star Wars kits gain a larger 18-inch centrepiece with interior figures and articulated turrets. The jump is worthwhile for display-focused modellers who want licensed movie accuracy and don't mind the extra assembly time. It is less suited to beginners needing snap-fit convenience or anyone wanting a pre-painted replica.

Questions about this item

What scale is the Millennium Falcon model kit, and how long is the finished model?

The kit is moulded in 1/72 scale and the assembled Falcon measures approximately 18 inches long.

What physical space and tools are needed to build and display the 18-inch model?

You will need a work area large enough for an 18-inch ship, plus modelling cement and paint, which are not included in the box.

How is the kit assembled, and which step do builders most often miss?

The 122 parts are cemented and painted following the instructions; a common oversight is forgetting to fit the pilot figures and landing-gear assemblies before closing the fuselage halves.
