Replacement cable for Sony PRS readers

The MPF Products USB-SNYMINI cable connects Sony PRS-300 Pocket, PRS-500 Touch, PRS-505 Digital, PRS-600 Touch, PRS-700 Digital and PRS-900 Daily Edition e-book readers to a computer USB port. It handles both data synchronisation and charging in a single cord. Owners of those specific Sony models can replace a lost or damaged original lead with this direct-fit alternative.

Mini-USB connector with twisted-pair wiring

A mini-USB plug mates with the reader's port while a standard USB-A plug goes into the host machine. The twisted-pair construction is intended to reduce interference and support reliable, high-speed transfers during everyday sync sessions. The compact, lightweight cable adds minimal bulk to a travel bag or desk setup.

Three-year replacement warranty included

MPF Products backs the cable with a three-year replacement warranty, so a defective unit can be exchanged without extra cost. No additional software, drivers or adapters are bundled; the cable works with the reader's built-in USB mass-storage and charging functions. Buyers needing a cable for non-Sony e-readers or devices with micro-USB or USB-C ports will need a different product.

Questions about this item

Does the USB-SNYMINI cable use a standard USB-A connector for the PC end?

Yes, the cable plugs into any standard USB-A port on a PC, Mac or laptop for both data sync and charging.

What physical connector does the cable need on the Sony e-reader side?

The cable uses a proprietary Sony connector that fits the PRS-300, PRS-500, PRS-505, PRS-600, PRS-700 and PRS-900 models listed.

How do I install the cable so the reader actually charges and syncs?

Connect the USB-A end to a powered computer port, attach the proprietary end firmly to the reader, then wait for the device to appear as a drive — using an unpowered hub is the common mistake that prevents charging.
