ATX motherboard for 4th-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors with four DDR3 memory slots supporting up to 32 GB, one PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, four SATA ports and HDMI video output
This ATX board uses the Intel B85 chipset and supports 4th-generation Core i5 and i7 processors in the LGA 1150 socket. It provides four DDR3 memory slots running at 1066, 1333 or 1600 speeds in dual-channel mode. The layout includes one PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, one PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot running at x4, two PCI Express x1 slots and two legacy PCI slots for expansion cards.
The board accepts up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory across its four 240-pin slots, giving ample headroom for multitasking and older workloads. Storage connectivity includes four SATA 6 Gb/s ports plus two SATA 3 Gb/s ports, so six drives can be attached before additional controllers are needed. The single PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot handles one modern graphics card, while the x4 slot and PCI slots cover extra I/O or legacy add-in cards.
Onboard audio uses the Realtek ALC887 codec with 8-channel output for surround sound without a separate card. Networking is handled by a Realtek 8111G controller delivering 1 Gbps wired Ethernet. Rear I/O supplies HDMI video (active only with a CPU that has integrated graphics), two PS/2 ports, two USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0/1.1 ports for peripherals.
