18-inch QHD+ 240Hz laptop for competitive play

The 18.0-inch panel shows 2560 x 1600 at 240Hz, giving fast-paced titles the motion clarity they need. An Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 cores and 5.4 GHz turbo drives the system, while 16GB DDR5 and a 512GB PCIe SSD keep data moving. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 graphics under sustained load

The GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR7 maintains stable frame rates during long sessions instead of peaking only in short bursts. Its 24-core processor and 36 MB cache feed the GPU steadily, so thermal limits are reached gradually rather than instantly.

Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 connectivity limits

One USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port handles DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.0, while HDMI 2.1 drives an external 4K display at high refresh. Three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports and RJ45 round out the wired links. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 cover wireless needs.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 24-core Ultra 9 275HX get during long gaming sessions?

The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX reaches 5.4 GHz max turbo frequency across its 24 cores and 24 threads. MSI's Cooler Boost 5 system manages heat from the CPU and RTX 5070 GPU. Fan noise increases under sustained load but stays within typical gaming-laptop levels.

Which cables and peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 ports?

The laptop provides 1x Thunderbolt 4 with DP and PD 3.0 plus 1x HDMI 2.1. You need a Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C cable for docks or displays, and an HDMI 2.1 cable for 2560 x 1600 at 240 Hz on an external monitor.

Will my older USB-A 3.0 mouse and headset work with the three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports?

Yes. The three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices, so existing mice, headsets and drives connect without adapters.
