Thin 15.6-inch gaming laptop

The MSI GF63 THIN 9SC-614 is a 15.6-inch Windows 10 Home laptop built around an Intel Core i5-9300H processor and a GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics card. Its 0.85-inch profile and 4.10-pound weight suit users who need a portable system for daily work and entry-level gaming.

8 GB memory and 512 GB NVMe storage

Eight gigabytes of system memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD provide enough headroom for mainstream titles at 1920 x 1080 resolution and general multitasking. The 60 Hz IPS panel covers 45% NTSC colour, so colour-critical work will require an external display.

HDMI 4K 30 Hz and USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports

One HDMI port drives an external monitor at 4K 30 Hz while three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one Type-C port handle peripherals and storage. The thin aluminium chassis relies on Max-Q thermal tuning, so sustained loads run warmer than thicker designs.

Questions about this item

Will the laptop’s single HDMI port that supports 4K at 30 Hz work with my older 1080p monitor?

Yes, the HDMI port supports 4K at 30 Hz and will downscale to 1080p for your older monitor without any extra adapters.

How can I verify the GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q is running correctly after I set up the laptop?

Open Device Manager and confirm the GTX 1650 Max-Q appears under Display adapters with 4 GB GDDR5 listed; then run a game and check that the GPU is active in Task Manager’s Performance tab.

What comes in the box and what do I need to buy separately for external storage?

The box includes the laptop, power adapter, and documentation; to add external storage use one of the three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports or the single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port for a portable drive.
