Intel H110 Mini ITX board

The MSI H110I Pro fits the LGA 1151 socket and supports Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron processors. It uses the Intel H110 chipset and carries two 288-pin DDR4 slots running at 2133 MT/s in dual-channel mode up to 32 GB total. A single PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and four SATA 6Gb/s ports handle graphics and storage.

Rear I/O and M.2 slot

The back panel provides one HDMI output, a PS/2 combo port, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0/1.1 ports. An onboard M.2 connector adds a compact drive option. Audio runs through a Realtek ALC887 codec with 7.1 channels, while networking uses a Realtek 8111H controller rated for 1 Gbps.

Mini ITX installation notes

The Mini ITX form factor fits small cases but leaves limited room around the CPU socket and the single expansion slot. The 24-pin ATX and 4-pin CPU power headers sit close to the board edge, so route cables before securing the board. The M.2 screw standoff is often missing from the box; keep a spare M2×3 mm screw handy.

Questions about this item

Will the two DDR4 2133 slots need replacement if I later want 32 GB of memory?

The board supports up to 32 GB across its two slots, so no replacement is needed to reach the maximum capacity.

What limits the PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot during sustained heavy workloads?

The single PCIe 3.0 x16 lane provides up to 8 GT/s bandwidth, which becomes the ceiling for any add-in card under continuous load.

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the H110 chipset and VRM area when the system runs all day?

The H110 chipset and simple VRM draw modest power, so a standard case airflow setup keeps temperatures low and noise minimal.
