27-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor

The MSI MAG 272UP QD-OLED X24 is a 27-inch UHD panel built for competitive and immersive play. It combines a 3840 x 2160 resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms GtG response time. The QD-OLED layer delivers 1.07 billion colors with 99% DCI-P3 and 138% sRGB coverage. VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification guarantees deep contrast at 1,500,000:1.

Installation and common issues

The box includes a height-adjustable stand with pivot, swivel and tilt plus a 100 x 100 VESA mount option. Assembly uses a tool-less latch that clicks into the rear chassis. Ensure the graphics card can drive 4K at 240Hz over DisplayPort 1.4a with DSC or HDMI 2.1 at 48Gbps. Enable the OLED Care 2.0 suite in the OSD to run automatic pixel refresh and static-logo detection. A few early units required a firmware update for stable VRR handshake on certain AMD GPUs.

Deciding specification

The single figure that determines fit is the 240Hz refresh rate at native 4K resolution. If the system cannot sustain frame rates near that ceiling the panel’s speed advantage is wasted. Conversely, a rig that regularly exceeds 240 fps will benefit from the 0.03ms response and ClearMR 13000 motion clarity.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 0.03 ms response time is active after setup?

Enable the on-screen display response-time setting and verify the monitor reports 240 Hz at 3840 x 2160; the panel’s native GtG speed is always active at that refresh rate.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The monitor, height-adjustable stand with pivot, swivel and tilt, and cables for HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a and USB-C are included; no extra cables are required for 4K 240 Hz operation.

Which version should I choose for 4K 240 Hz gaming on PC and 4K 120 Hz on PS5 or Xbox?

This single model delivers 3840 x 2160 at 240 Hz via DisplayPort 1.4a or USB-C DP Alt Mode on PC, and 4K 120 Hz with VRR and ALLM over its two HDMI 2.1 ports on consoles.
