Socket LGA 1200 ATX motherboard

The MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK WIFI is an ATX motherboard built on the Intel B560 chipset for LGA 1200 processors. It accepts 11th and 10th Generation Intel Core CPUs as well as Pentium Gold and Celeron chips. The board targets system builders who need a full-size foundation for a mainstream desktop.

DDR4 memory overclocking to 5000 MT/s

The key specification is DDR4 support up to 5000 MT/s when overclocked. This ceiling determines the fastest memory kits the platform can run stably. Buyers should match their RAM choice to this limit rather than assuming higher speeds will work.

Suited to mainstream Intel builds needing ATX layout

This board fits users assembling a standard tower PC with an 11th or 10th Gen Intel processor and DDR4 memory. It is not for buyers who require a smaller micro-ATX or mini-ITX form factor, nor for those who need a chipset that enables CPU overclocking on locked processors.

Questions about this item

What does the DDR4 5000 OC rating mean for actual memory speed?

The board can run DDR4 memory up to 5000 MT/s when overclocked; actual speed depends on the CPU memory controller and the modules installed.

Which SATA standard does the board use and what throughput does it cap at?

The board uses SATA 6Gb/s, limiting drive throughput to 6 Gb/s.

What physical mounting does the CPU socket require?

The board uses an LGA 1200 socket, which follows Intel's standard mounting hole pattern for compatible coolers.
