Compact business desktop

The MSI PRO DP21 is a mini desktop built around an Intel Core i7-14700 processor with 20 cores and 28 threads running at a 2.1 GHz base and 5.4 GHz boost. It ships with 16GB of DDR5 5600 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD, plus Windows 11 Pro, a keyboard and a mouse. This configuration targets office teams and home workers who need responsive multitasking in a small footprint.

DDR5 memory and integrated graphics

The system uses two DDR5 slots populated with 16GB at 5600 MT/s, so total memory bandwidth is fixed by that speed and the integrated memory controller. Graphics come from the Intel UHD 770 engine, which relies on shared system memory and has no dedicated video RAM. Display output is limited to one HDMI and one DisplayPort connector, restricting multi-monitor setups to two screens.

Storage headroom and power envelope

The 1TB NVMe drive handles operating system, applications and active project files comfortably, but large media libraries or VM images will require external storage. The 200W power supply supports the included components and the front 2x USB-C 3.2 and 2x USB-A 3.2 ports, yet leaves no margin for discrete graphics cards or high-wattage peripherals. Buyers who need more internal storage bays or a dedicated GPU should consider a larger chassis.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16GB DDR5 5600MHz configuration or look for a higher capacity?

The system ships with 16GB DDR5 5600MHz across two slots, so both channels are populated; adding more memory would require replacing the existing modules.

How does the i7-14700 2.1 GHz base and 5.4 GHz boost perform in daily office workloads?

With 20 cores and 28 threads the processor handles multitasking, large spreadsheets and video calls smoothly while the 5.4 GHz boost accelerates bursty single-thread tasks.

What display outputs and USB standards does the DP21 provide?

One HDMI and one DisplayPort drive two monitors, while two USB-C 3.2 and two USB-A 3.2 ports handle fast peripherals alongside four USB 2.0 ports.
