Socket and chipset

This ATX motherboard uses the Intel Z890 chipset and an LGA 1851 socket for Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2). It provides four DDR5 UDIMM slots supporting up to 256GB in dual-channel mode. The board also includes a Thunderbolt 4 port on the rear I/O.

Before ordering

Verify that your CPU is an Intel Core Ultra Processor (Series 2) for the LGA 1851 socket. Check that your memory kit is DDR5 UDIMM and that your chassis accepts an ATX form factor. Ensure your power supply has the required ATX, CPU and PCIe power connectors for the 12 Duet Rail Power System.

Thermals and power

The Frozr Guard design uses extended heatsinks, 7W/mK MOSFET thermal pads, choke thermal pads and M.2 Shield Frozr to dissipate heat. Frozr AI Cooling monitors CPU and GPU temperatures and adjusts fan duty automatically. The 12 Duet Rail Power System with P-PAK delivers stable power for heavy workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the board include the Wi-Fi antenna and mounting hardware, or do I need to buy them separately?

The wireless module is pre-installed in the M.2 Key-E slot; the antenna and mounting hardware are included in the box so no separate purchase is required.

Should I choose DDR5 modules rated at 6400 MT/s JEDEC or faster 8800 MT/s overclocked kits for this motherboard?

The board runs DDR5 at 6400 MT/s JEDEC by default; 8800 MT/s is only reachable with 1DPC 1R modules and manual overclocking, so standard 6400 MT/s kits work without tuning.

What does the 5.8 Gbps Wi-Fi 7 figure mean for real-world throughput on this board?

The 5.8 Gbps is the maximum PHY rate on a 320 MHz 6 GHz link; actual throughput will be lower and depends on router capability, channel congestion and client distance.
