15.6 inch 240Hz QHD laptop for creators and gamers

The MSI Raider GE66 pairs a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU and 16GB GDDR6 memory. 32GB of DDR5 4800MHz SO-DIMM RAM and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD provide fast multitasking and storage. The 15.6 inch 2560 x 1440 display runs at 240Hz for smooth motion.

Thermals and power under load

A 280W power supply feeds the 14-core CPU and high-wattage GPU during sustained sessions. The 99 WHr 4-cell battery supplies mobile runtime away from the outlet. Fan behaviour and acoustic output vary with workload intensity and ambient temperature.

Connectivity and input extras

Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Type-C Gen2 ports enable high-speed peripherals and external displays. HDMI and mini DisplayPort outputs drive additional monitors. Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 and Bluetooth 5.2 handle wireless links while a 1080p webcam and per-key RGB keyboard complete the package.

Questions about this item

Does the 32 GB of DDR5 memory leave any slots free for an upgrade?

The 32 GB is installed as SO-DIMM modules; the laptop has two slots total, so adding more would require replacing the existing sticks.

Can the 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD be supplemented with a second drive?

The specification lists only the single 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD with no secondary drive bay mentioned, so extra internal storage is not supported.

Will the 280 W power supply run the i7-12700H and RTX 3080 Ti at full boost during long sessions?

The 280 W adapter matches the factory rating for this configuration and is designed to sustain both processor and graphics at their rated turbo clocks.
