What the GM08 is and who it suits

The MSI Clutch GM08 is a wired gaming mouse that connects through USB 2.0. Its symmetrical shape works for both left- and right-handed users and fits palm or claw grips. A PixArt PAW3519 optical sensor provides tracking up to 4200 DPI, while six programmable buttons cover standard gaming inputs. The mouse is built for Windows 10 down to Windows 7.

What the adjustable weights and Dragon LED change

Three removable weights let you shift the overall mass without tools, so the mouse feels lighter for fast swipes or heavier for steady aim. The Dragon Scale side grips and polygonal side buttons add tactile texture for surer finger placement. Red LED lighting on the scroll wheel and underside gives a constant glow; there is no software RGB control mentioned in the data.

The spec that decides fit

The optical sensor tops out at 4200 DPI, with hardware presets reaching 3200 DPI and the extra range unlocked through software. If your play style demands higher native sensitivity or a wireless connection, this model will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

How long will the mouse switches last before they need replacing?

The gaming switches are rated for over 10 million clicks, so they should handle years of regular use before any replacement is needed.

What limits tracking performance during long gaming sessions?

The PixArt PAW3519 optical sensor tops out at 4200 DPI via software, with hardware presets capped at 3200 DPI, so maximum sensitivity is the first ceiling you hit.

Does the mouse get hot or draw extra power when used all day?

As a wired USB 2.0 device with no onboard lighting controls beyond the fixed red LED, it draws minimal power and produces no noticeable heat during extended use.
