16" QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop

The MSI Vector A16 combines a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display running at 240 Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti graphics. It targets gamers and creators who need high refresh-rate visuals and 16-core multi-threaded performance in a portable chassis.

Interface and Connectivity Limits

The laptop provides two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 5 support at 40 Gbps, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, RJ45, and a headphone combo jack. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless links. Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth is shared across the two Type-C ports, so simultaneous high-speed peripherals may contend for the 40 Gbps ceiling.

Installation and Common Issues

The system ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and 16 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz memory soldered or slotted depending on configuration; storage uses a PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe M.2 SSD. Upgrading RAM or storage requires removing the bottom cover, which voids the manufacturer seal if tamper-evident labels are broken. Driver conflicts occasionally appear after clean OS reinstalls unless the MSI Center package is applied first.
