Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-Core Mobile Workstation

The MSI Vector A16 pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with a 16-inch QHD+ 240 Hz IPS panel. Sixteen cores and 32 threads at up to 5.3 GHz give headroom for compile jobs, virtual machines and high-refresh gaming. Windows 11 Pro and Copilot+ PC features ship ready for professional workloads.

12GB GDDR7 RTX 5070 Ti and 2TB Gen 4 SSD

The discrete RTX 5070 Ti brings 12 GB of GDDR7 video memory for 1440p gaming and GPU-accelerated rendering. System memory is 16 GB DDR5 5600 MHz, expandable to 64 GB. The 2 TB PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe SSD offers fast load times; capacity ceilings appear at 4 TB if larger libraries are needed.

Thunderbolt 5 Ports and Per-Key RGB Keyboard

Two USB-C Thunderbolt 5 ports deliver 40 Gbps bandwidth for external GPUs or high-speed storage. A 24-zone RGB keyboard with anti-ghost 99-key layout supports precise input. Wi-Fi 7 MT7925 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless connectivity. A 90 Wh battery and 330 W adapter power the chassis.

Questions about this item

Will the 16-core Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5070 Ti run my older USB 3.2 Gen 2 drives at full 10 Gbps speed?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and two Type-C ports each support 10 Gbps, so legacy 3.2 Gen 2 storage will hit its rated throughput.

How do I confirm the 240 Hz QHD+ panel and 12 GB GDDR7 GPU are active after setup?

Open Windows Display settings and set the refresh rate to 240 Hz; then run Task Manager > Performance > GPU to verify the RTX 5070 Ti shows 12 GB dedicated video memory.

Which items ship in the box and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the laptop, 330-watt AC adapter and documentation. Memory and storage are pre-installed at 16 GB DDR5 and 2 TB SSD, so no extra RAM or drive is required.
