18-inch QHD+ 240Hz gaming laptop

The MSI Vector A18 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around a 16-core Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and an RTX 5080 GPU with 16GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 32GB DDR5 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD. The 2560 x 1600 panel runs at 240Hz and covers 100% DCI-P3 for colour-accurate visuals. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 licence are pre-installed.

Connectivity limits of USB4 and HDMI 2.1

Two USB4 ports support DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.1 for high-speed peripherals and external displays. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports add legacy device support. HDMI 2.1 outputs 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz to compatible monitors. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless traffic, while an RJ45 jack provides wired Ethernet. An SD card reader is not included.

Installation notes for memory and storage upgrades

The chassis measures 15.91 x 12.09 x 1.26 inches and weighs 7.94 pounds, so internal access requires removing multiple screws and careful prying of the bottom cover. The 32GB DDR5 configuration may already occupy both SO-DIMM slots, limiting further RAM expansion without module replacement. The single 512GB PCIe SSD leaves room for an additional drive if a second M.2 slot is present, but slot count is not confirmed in the supplied data. Professional installation is recommended to avoid damaging ribbon cables or thermal pads.
